| 学修の概要 | This course should change your life! You will realize the many opportunities for interacting in English beyond the classroom, and your ability to meet people and interact in English outside class. This course focuses on the development of ability to use spoken English in social situations: the language of social interaction. |
| 学修の到達目標 | Students will be able to plan in groups, initiate conversation, deal with issues, investigate language needs, report and present in English. These are all aspects of this course. |
| 授業計画 | 第1回 | Learning about Social English - Sociable English! Students will be able to use clarification language. Learners will be able to find things in common. Extra out-of-class activities!Reports from Social English I continuers. |
| 第2回 | Students will be able to have "Catch-up" conversations, and make small talk. Brainstorming ideas.Social project planning in English: making teams, choosing together, keeping in touch. Meeting new people. | |
| 第3回 | Students will be able to introduce an idea; make an invitation; accept an invitation. Our social projects: the English we need, deciding details. Choosing, planning. |

| 第4回 | Our social projects: telling how they are proceeding. Students will be able to to share troubles or worries, learn to be a caring listener. |

| 授業外学習の課題 | Finding, investigating, and participating in social events outside class or outside the university is part of this course. You need to allow up to between 2 and 4 hours per week. |
| 履修上の注意事項 | 【対面授業を実施します】 We will have classes face to face, but will also use Google Classroom, Google Documents and other online tools for any on-demand classes. 英語英文学科で提供している科目については、公認欠席を含め、欠席はいかなる事情があっても4回までとします。For any authorized absences (公認欠席), assignments will be provided. |
| 成績評価の方法・基準 | Active participation in in English in class(20%), out of class (10%), presentations and sharing (40%), and reports (30%) Students will receive feedback and guidance, from classmates and from their teacher. |
