| 学修の概要 | Communication is the exchange of information. This course emphasizes intercultural communication. Students will learn how to exchange information about culture with others. Students will learn about and practice using different types of communication, including: • Verbal (using words for speaking or listening) • Non-Verbal (making non-word sounds, using body language, using visual media) • Interpersonal (having conversations) • Intrapersonal (writing a diary, taking notes) |
| 学修の到達目標 | By the end of this course, students should be able to communicate in English more fluently, accurately, and confidently. In particular, they should be better able to: ■ Share interesting information about themselves and their culture ■ Identify and use common gestures and other body language ■ Use their voice to make meaning clear or show emotions ■ Have conversations about a variety of topics ■ Share their own opinions and give feedback on the opinions of others ■ Gather information and then present it to others ■ Give and follow instructions on how to do or make something |

| 授業外学習の課題 | Students will give four presentations: 1. A self-introduction 2. A presentation about food and culture 3. A presentation about entertainment 4. A presentation about a topic of their choice The instructor may also assign other assignments for homework. |

Lessons will be taught in-person and online-only through Google Classroom. 授業は基本として対面で実施する予定ですが、Google Classromでオンラインのみの授業を実施するときもあります。 • Homework will be assigned through Google Classroom.
