| 学修の到達目標 | The goals of this class are to build your English vocabulary and your confidence in discussing heavier topics in English. This class will focus more on conversations in small groups rather than big, formal presentations. | 授業計画 | 第1回 | -Class, teacher, and student introductions. Students will have a chance to get to know the teacher and each other, and they will explore the class themes through games and question prompts provided by the teacher. All this is to help the students decide if this class is the right fit for them or not. |
| 第2回 | -Class rules and expectations. As a class, we will go through the class syllabus to ensure everyone understands what is expected in this class. This will help students prepare for the rest of the semester. | |
| 第3回 | -Topic 1 (Climate Change) Introduction: The class study packet will be passed out to all students. As a class, we will learn new vocabulary and discuss the basic ideas of climate change in small groups. The first Google Classroom Vocabulary Quiz will be assigned for homework and the first worksheet from the study packet will be assigned for homework. | |

Judges will also randomly be chosen to determine which side "wins" the debate. The debate will challenge students understanding of the vocabulary and the topic of climate change. In class discussions and homework worksheets from the study packet all help students prepare for the debate. The first topic report will be assigned for homework. |
