| 学修の概要 | The aim of this course is for students to gain knowledge of the skills and practices necessary to teach English, especially in junior and senior high schools in Japan. The main topics explored in the course are (1) the features of an engaging lesson, (2) effective tools and techniques that can be used in the classroom, (3) the methods involved in conducting integrated skills classes, (4) how to team-teach with Assistant Language Teachers, and (5) how to utilise ICT in the classroom (e.g. powerpoint, LMS, classroom software tools). The students are also trained to conduct English lessons through English. このコースの目的は、学生が、特に日本の中学校および高等学校で英語を教えるために必要なスキルと実践についての知識を獲得することです。(1)生徒を惹きつける授業の特性、(2)教室で使えるツールやテクニック、(3) 技能を統合した授業を行うための方法、(4)ALTとのティーム・ティーチングといった事柄を理解すること、(5)ICTの活用に焦点を当てる。また、英語で授業をするトレーニングも行う。 |
| 学修の到達目標 | The objective of this course is for students to become familiar with (1) what an engaging English-language lesson should include, (2) how to use materials and resources to support the lesson, and (3) how to teach English through English. 到達目標は、(1)生徒を巻き込む授業に含まれる特性、(2)授業を支える教材や資料の活用の仕方、(3)英語で英語を教える方法に精通することである。 |

| 授業外学習の課題 | Students are expected to study for at least four hours per week out of class. 1) Two hours should be spent previewing the material for the next class (e.g. textbook, handouts, internet research). 2) Two hours should be spent reviewing notes and materials from the previous class. |
| 履修上の注意事項 | 対面授業を実施します。 英語英文学科で提供している科目については、公認欠席を含め、欠席はいかなる事情があっても４回までとします。 公認欠席について: Individual instruction will be provided for students with authorized absences. To be successful on this course, students need: 1) good attendance and time keeping. 2) good classwork and homework. 3) good motivation and participation. |
| 成績評価の方法・基準 | The grade for the semester is composed of: 1) Model Lesson Opener (50%) 2) Test (50%) *Absences and Lateness will negatively affect grades. |
