学修の概要 | The aim of this class is for students to develop intermediate-level knowledge of the skills involved in English-language academic writing. We will challenge our writing ability in a variety of academic writing. 学術論文や卒業論文を英語で試してみたい学生たちは大歓迎です。二年生の時に習った効果的なアカデミック・ライティングを拡げて、より学問的な論部を創作する学生に向けるコースです。論文に関わる表現を習ったりや文法問題を解決したりすることです。 |
学修の到達目標 | The objective of this course is for students to gain a well-rounded understanding of the essential components of English-language academic writing. |
授業計画 | 第1回 | Introduction to the course, explanation on how to use the textbook, online practice , etc. Review previous problems in writing researched essays. |

授業外学習の課題 | Students are expected to study for at least two hours per week out of class. 1) One hour should be spent previewing the material for the next class (e.g. textbook, handouts, internet research). 2) One hour should be spent reviewing notes and materials from the previous class. |
履修上の注意事項 | You will be required to correct your mistakes and your partners' mistakes in the assignments, write questions and comments to them; to practice writing during class; to finish uncompleted written assignments in your own time; to submit your essays on time. The classes will be conducted face-to-face. 対面授業を実施します 英語英文学科で提供している科目については、公認欠席を含め、欠席はいかなる事情があっても4回までとします。 公認欠席について: Individual instruction will be provided for students with authorized absences. In addition, contact needs to be made in advance of any absences. また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。 You are recommended to use an English-English dictionary. To be successful on this course, students need: 1) good attendance and time keeping. 2) good classwork and homework. 3) good motivation and participation |
成績評価の方法・基準 | The grade for the semester is composed of: 1) Essays as homework/classwork (50%) 2) Variery of Tests, final essay (50%) *Absences and Lateness will negatively affect grades. |
