| 学修の概要 | リーディング・ライティング（文字によるインプット・アウトプット）を中心に基本的な英語コミュニケーション能力を身につけることを目的とします。英語の基礎的な読解力・ライティング力を習得するためのクラスです。｛英語I（リーディング・ライティング）」の内容を踏まえつつ、やさしい英語で書かれた読み物からはじめ、徐々にレベルアップしていき、高校までに学んだ単語、熟語、文法を復習しながら、教材中に出てきた表現をアウトプット活動につなぐことも視野に入れて学びます。 |
| 学修の到達目標 | 受講生の英語習熟度を考慮しつつ、リーディング(R)・ライティング(W)に必要な語彙力、文法力をさらに向上させることを目指します。各レベルの到達目標の目安は以下の通りです。 レベル1a:(R)ファストフード・レストランの絵や写真がついたメニューを理解し、選ぶことができる。(W)自分に関すること（名前、住所、家族など）を短い句または文を用いて書くことができる。 レベル1b:(R)短い近況報告（身近な人から携帯メールなどによる旅の思い出など）を理解することができる。(W)短いメッセージカード（誕生日カードなど）や身近なことがらについての短いメモなどを書ける。 レベル1c:(R)個人的な興味のある話題（スポーツ・音楽・旅行など）に関する文章を、イラストや写真も参考にしながら理解することができる。(W)趣味や好き嫌いについて複数の文を用いて書くことができる。 レベル2:(R)簡単な語を用いて書かれた説明文（人物描写、場所の説明、日常生活や文化の紹介など）を理解することができる。(W)簡単な接続詞を用いて、基礎的な句や文を使った簡単な英語で、まとまりのある文章（日記や写真、事物の説明文など）を書くことができる。 レベル3:(R)日常的な話題（生活、趣味、スポーツなど）を扱った文章の要点を理解したり、必要な情報を取り出したりすることができる。(W)聞いたり読んだりした内容（生活や文化の紹介などの説明や物語）であれば、基礎的な日常生活語彙や表現を用いて、感想や意見などを短く書くことができる。 |

| 第２回 | Student Introductions and Book Background Explanation. The teacher will have an opportunity to get to know the students and the students will be able to practice introductions in English. Students will understand some of history and context behind the book we will read in class through a lecture and small group discussions. | |
| 第３回 | Book Background Explanation Wrap Up and Book Introduction. Any final discussions on the history and context behind the book will be finished. Students will understand what the book we will read in class, The Story of Anne Frank, is about and how it will be used in class. The first pages from the book will be assigned for students to read for homework. | |

Students will answer questions related to the reading they did for homework and will discuss their answers in small groups. Students will take a small vocabulary quiz covering words from the book. | 第１２回 | Movie Introduction and Start Watching the Movie. As a class, we will watch the movie Joe Joe Rabbit after a brief explanation on what the movie is about and its connection to the book we read as a class. Students will answer viewing comprehension questions while they watch the movie. | |
| 第１３回 | Finish Watching the Movie, Answer Movie Questions, Last Writing Practice Drills. As a class, finish watching the movie and answer the viewing comprehension questions on the movie. Students will practice writing sentences based on prompts and assistance from the teacher. | |
| 第１４回 | Last Mini Writing Test Day and Movie Discussion. Students will take a small writing test to see if they have improved from the "writing practice drills". In small groups and as a class, students will discuss the movie and compare and contrast it to the book we read in class. | |
| 第１５回 | Semester Review and Prepare for the Final Exam. Students will receive feedback on their Mini Writing Tests. Students will receive information about the final exam and advice on how to study for it. |

| 成績評価の方法・基準 | リーディング・プロジェクト(15～20%)、ライティング課題(15～20%）、小・中間・ユニットテスト（①15～20％）、期末テスト（②10～40％）、参加度（～10％）を原則とします。（ただし①と②の合計は50%以下） なお、この他、宿題（～10%）をリーディング・ライティングプロジェクトの一部として課すこともあります。 |
