授業の題目	言語景観研究: Linguistic Landscape Studies
学修の概要	The aim of this course is for students to become familiar with research into linguistic landscape studies, as part of the field of sociolinguistics. The course is comprised of (1) the reading and analysis of published research on the linguistic landscape, (2) the investigation of topics related to linguistic landscape studies, (3) the writing of a research report on the topic of linguistic landscape studies.
学修の到達目標	The desired outcome of this semester is for students to read and analyse published research on linguistic landscape studies, and then to produce their own research report on a specific topic within the field.

授業外学習の課題	Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class. It is expected that EVERY student on this course: 1) uses English as much as possible 2) always REVIEWS the last class and PREVIEWS the next class
履修上の注意事項	対面授業を実施します原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。 To be successful on this course, students need: 1) good attendance and time keeping. 2) good classwork and homework. 3) good motivation and participation.
成績評価の方法・基準	The grade for the term is composed of: 1) Module Tests/Presentations (50%) 2) Research Report (50%) Lateness and absences will negatively affect grades. If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework.
