| 授業の概要 | The main aim of this course is to develop listening, reading and critical thinking skills while engaging with current affairs topics through news media. This autumn semester course will have a particular focus on looking at topics from the perspective of British news media, although many of the topics themselves are international. A large part of the assessment is based on pair research projects which will largely be prepared outside of class and presented to other pairs in the following lesson. Many useful online resources will be introduced to students to help them with this. There will also be a news translation exercise towards the end of the course, and a final whole-class presentation in which students will act as news readers to report their story. |
