授業題目 Writing Ⅲ_01
授業の概要 This course focuses on developing academic writing skills. The desired outcome of Semester 1 is for students to write well-structured sentences and paragraphs, and to gain knowledge of what is involved in successful academic writing.
学習の到達目標 The overall aim of the Writing course is for students to gain confidence in effectively structuring sentences, paragraphs, and longer passages of written academic English.

授業外学習の課題 Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class.
It is expected that EVERY student on this course:
1) uses English as much as possible
2) always REVIEWS the last class and PREVIEWS the next class
3) completes their homework every week

原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。
また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。

To be successful in this course, students need:

1) good attendance and time keeping. *
2) good classwork and homework. **
3) good motivation, participation, and preparedness ***

*Students with more than 4 absences will NOT be able to receive an evaluation grade for this course.
**Students are expected to do homework every week even if they are absent. If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework.
***Students are expected to bring their textbook and a notebook to every lesson
成績評価の方法・基準 The grade for the semester is composed of:
1) Essay presentations 1 & 2 (50%)
2) Final examination (25%)
3) Active Participation (25%)
