授業の概要 | This course focuses on developing academic writing skills. The desired outcome of Semester 1 is for students to write well-structured sentences and paragraphs, and to gain knowledge of what is involved in successful academic writing. |
学習の到達目標 | The overall aim of the Writing course is for students to gain confidence in effectively structuring sentences, paragraphs, and longer passages of written academic English. |

授業外学習の課題 | Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class. These are the 2 expectations of every student on this course: 1) Use English as much as possible 2) Always review the last class and preview the next class |
履修上の注意事項 | 【対面授業を実施します】We will also use Google Classroom for assignment submission and supporting materials. 原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。 また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。 As a general rule, credits will not be granted if a student is absent more than 4 times. In addition, contact needs to be made in advance of any absences. To be successful on this course, students need: 1) good attendance and time keeping. 2) good classwork and homework. 3) good motivation and participation. |
成績評価の方法・基準 | The grade for the semester is composed of: 1) Comprehension Test (50%) 2) Active Participation (50%) *If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework. *If a student has difficulty accessing course content, it is the student's responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework. |
