授業題目 上級貿易通信 International Business Communication IV
授業の概要 The purpose of this course is to introduce the principles of communication in business across cultures with the aim of developing an international style of communication which can be applied in external communications for negotiations and in internal communications during meetings for decision making and problem solving. In addition to course materials, an online project with interactions with international students from universities around the world will be used to provide 'real' learning opportunities and experiences.

学習の到達目標 Students will be able to demonstrate (1) knowledge of the key terms in business communication strategy, (2) skills in conducting business information analysis for recommendations & decision making, and (3) the attitude to collaborate across cultures in international business meetings to negotiate and solve problems.

授業外学習の課題 In this "flipped classroom method" students are expected to complete 60-90 minutes of out of class preparation on individual and group project tasks and to conduct the business information analyses and research needed to prepare for online meetings, case study discussions, & communications in teams for decisions in the Virtual Business Professional project.
履修上の注意事項 Activities in this course taught in English focus on: (1) mini lectures with business communication themes, (2) workshops for applied skills practice, (3) analyzing business management strategies and online presence (4) role plays in tasks & projects, and (5) team meetings for negotiations and decision making.
成績評価の方法・基準 Ongoing assessment will be conducted with grade evaluations based on: active participation & weekly homework 20%, role play negotiation tasks 20%, business case studies & writing tasks 20%, and for the VBP project: a business analysis report 20% and oral presentation 20%

参考文献 適宜、プリント教材を配布する。Handouts will be provided in class with a link to the online materials for the Virtual Business Professional (VBP) project. Assignments will be handed in in-person or submitted through Google Classroom which will also include a schedule of the due dates and deadlines.
