授業題目	Practical English I
授業の概要	This course will focus on students' English speaking fluency and confidence with the development of all four English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) through various everyday life topics and situations. It will also review and introduce useful grammatical structures and vocabulary, whilst learning through role-play and pair/group work. Let's enjoy English!
学習の到達目標	Our goal is to improve all four skills, (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) as well as increase your confidence in speaking.

授業計画	第１回	Course introduction, Syllabus, Textbook, and Assessment information. Ice Breaking games.
	第２回	Unit 1 "Introductions" Function: Getting to know someone. Talking about personal information.
	第３回	Unit 2 "Daily Life". Function: Talking about routines and describing frequency.
	第４回	Unit 3 "Weekend Events" Function: Showing interest and feelings. Talking about favourite weekend activities.
	第５回	Units 1-3 Review. Quiz and conversation activity
	第６回	Unit 4 "Small Talk" Function: Greeting people and talking about part-time jobs.
	第７回	Unit 5 "Likes and Dislikes" Function: Talking about preferences and giving reasons.
	第８回	Unit 6 "Student Life" Function: Talking about needs and wants, and recommending places.
	第９回	Units 4-6 Review. Quiz and conversation activity
	第１０回	Unit 7 "Family" Function: Describing appearance and talking about similarity.
	第１１回	Unit 8 "Friends" Function: Talking about personality
	第１２回	Unit 9 "Going Out" Function: Talking about free time and arranging schedules.
	第１３回	Units 7-9 Review. Quiz and conversation activity
	第１４回	Group Assignments given
	第１５回	Group Assignment Presentation (Poster)

授業外学習の課題	Students must study for the quizzes, and prepare and practice their speeches for homework. The Pair and group Poster must be done for homework.
履修上の注意事項	レベル1の学生を対象としています。授業計画は、進捗によって多少変更となる場合があります。
成績評価の方法・基準	（以下の基準により評価を行う） Quizzes: 50% Posters: 30% Classroom Contribution: 20%
