授業題目 | English Discussion IV |
授業の概要 | This course is designed to help students build their confidence in speaking and practice their discussion and communication skills. Students will discuss various topics on socially meaningful themes, including education, equal rights, globalization, conflict and peace, nationalism, and environmental concerns. They will do this by expressing and supporting their opinions in English. Discussion strategies will be introduced and practiced in pairs and in small groups, and then will be applied in class discussions. Discussion can be an effective way for students to improve their communication skills as well as engaging with core ideas, apply them, and enhance their problem-solving skills. It’s good for promoting teamwork, for eliciting higher-order thinking, and is especially applicable when a subject is complex and/or open-ended. |
学習の到達目標 | This course is designed to help students to develop discussion skills and English language confidence on various contentious topics. Students will engage with the content, critically reflect on different situations, interact with classmates to understand the issues and present their own perspectives in class. |
