授業題目 コーパス言語学: Corpus Linguistics I
授業の概要 The aim of this course is for students to become familiar with the research methodology of Corpus Linguistics. The course is comprised of (1) learning about the fundamental concepts within the methodology of corpus linguistics, (2) working with various corpus linguistics software programs, and (3) the writing of a research report which uses a corpus linguistics methodology.
学習の到達目標 The desired outcome of this semester is for students to learn about and have hands-on practice with corpus software tools, and then produce their own research report on a specific topic which uses a corpus linguistics methodology.

授業外学習の課題 Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class.
It is expected that EVERY student on this course:
1) uses English as much as possible
2) always REVIEWS the last class and PREVIEWS the next class
履修上の注意事項 対面授業を実施します

原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。
また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。

To be successful on this course, students need:
1) good attendance and time keeping.
2) good classwork and homework.
3) good motivation and participation.
成績評価の方法・基準 The grade for the term is composed of:
1) Module Tests/Presentations (50%)
2) Research Report/Presentation (50%)
*Lateness and absences will negatively affect grades.
*If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework.
