授業題目 Pragmatics II
授業の概要 The aim of this course is to help participants experience, understand, and create pragmatics teaching activities. provides an overview of the field of pragmatics, with three main approaches for the classes. In each block of three classes, participants read and discuss one chapter of a book focused on pragmatic instruction, they try out and discuss one or two activities, and they work on creating their own activity.
学習の到達目標 The main learning focus through this course is for participants to learn about the need for pragmatics instruction, to understand what it may mean in practice, and to experience pragmatics instruction both through teaching and through developing a pragmatics teaching activity.

授業外学習の課題 The main out of class activity for this course will be pragmatics teaching practice, and the writing of a teaching report. Around 4 hours per week is required for study outside of class time.

We will also be using Google Classroom and Google Documents.

原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。
As a rule, credits are not granted if a student is absent more than four times. If possible, contact your teacher in advance if you will be absent.
成績評価の方法・基準 Students will be evaluated according to their performance in class activities (40%), and final research report (60%). Feedback will be given every step of the way.
