| 授業の概要 | This course is about developing the skills and practices necessary to teach English, especially in junior and senior high schools in Japan. The desired outcome is on understanding (1) the features of an engaging lesson, (2) effective tools and techniques that can be used in the classroom, (3) the methods involved in conducting integrated skills classes, (4) how to team-teach with Assistant Language Teachers, and (5) how to utilise ICT in the classroom (e.g. powerpoint, LMS, classroom software tools). The students are also trained to conduct English lessons through English. The goal is for students to be familiar with (1) what an engaging lesson should include, (2) how to use materials and resources to support the lesson, and (3) how to teach English through English. Activities will include discussions, observations, and practice of language teaching. このコースは、特に中学校・高等学校で英語を指導するのに必要な技能そして実践を伸ばすためのものである。(1)生徒を惹きつける授業の特性、(2)教室で使えるツールやテクニック、(3) 技能を統合した授業を行うための方法、(4)ALTとのティーム・ティーチングといった事柄を理解すること、(5)ICTの活用に焦点を当てる。また、英語で授業をするトレーニングも行う。到達目標は、(1)生徒を巻き込む授業に含まれる特性、(2)授業を支える教材や資料の活用の仕方、(3)英語で英語を教える方法に精通することである。ディスカッション、授業観察、模擬授業を行う。 |

| 授業外学習の課題 | Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class. It is expected that EVERY student on this course: 1) uses English as much as possible 2) always REVIEWS the last class and PREVIEWS the next class |
| 履修上の注意事項 | 対面授業を実施します 原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。 また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。 To be successful on this course, students need: 1) good attendance and time keeping. 2) good classwork and homework. 3) good motivation and participation. |
| 成績評価の方法・基準 | The grade for the semester is composed of: Model Lesson (50%) Final Test (50%) *Lateness/absences/lack of effort will negatively affect grades. *If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework. |
