| 授業の概要 | This course is intended for students who want to study abroad in English speaking countries and regions. This is accomplished by researching information about their particular country and using this knowledge as a way to better understand the written and oral skills necessary to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and situations. Lastly, students give an in class presentation based on the research that they have gathered and learned concerning their study abroad destination. |

| 第４回 | Role-plays: communicating with people in 'first contact situations' - airport, public transport (taxi, bus, train) and homestay family. | |

| 第６回 | Learning at an overseas university: in & outside of class. | |

| 授業外学習の課題 | Students should make every effort at: 1. Using English as much as possible. 2. Practicing effective time management. 3. Always previewing and reviewing their work. 4. Students should expect to do at least 1 hour of outside-class work. |
| 履修上の注意事項 | In order to succeed in this course you need to: 1. Attend all the classes face to face. 2. Actively participate in classroom activities. 3. Complete homework to the best of your ability. A Google Classroom class code will be given out in the first lesson. IMPORTANT: Registration for this course is by Web Entry and must be done at the beginning of the semester in April. Up to 24 students will be accepted into this course. Contact the instructor if you have any questions. |
| 成績評価の方法・基準 | 40% End of Term Report 30% Presentations 30% Active participation in class Try NOT to be late or absent from your classes. If you are absent, please contact the teacher for any missing work. If you are absent FIVE or more times, you will not be given a credit. |
