| 授業の概要 | This fall term English course will further develop student interest in using English for business by building on the abilities for self-expression developed in previous English courses. Business English (BE) vocabulary, grammatical functions, and business communication purposes are studied in practical 4 skills (L, R, Wr, & Sp) tasks for popular business interactions. In addition to BE course materials, an online business simulation game (MktSIM) will provide opportunities to communicate actively in company teams to develop marketing plans and strategies. (BC = Business Communications / WW = Working with Words) |
| 学習の到達目標 | Students will be able to demonstrate (1) knowledge of the key vocabulary for business communication purposes and marketing strategy, (2) skills in market data analysis for decisions, & (3) the attitude to collaborate as an active member in group projects and study independently. |

| 授業外学習の課題 | In a “flipped classroom” students are expected to prepare out of class (60 minutes) for individual tasks and group projects with the market data analysis needed to participate in team meetings to discuss plans and strategies to solve problems in the business simulation game (MktSIM). |
| 履修上の注意事項 | This course taught in English focuses on practical communication purposes in business in pairs and small groups for (a) social interactions, (b) business transactions, and (c) problem solving meetings. 【この科目はレベル3以上の学生のみ履修可能です。】 |
| 成績評価の方法・基準 | Ongoing assessment will be conducted on active participation in class 10%, weekly homework in Google classroom & online 15%, 2 projects (individual & group) 25%, the business simulation game 30%, and 3 knowledge review quizzes plus a final exam 20%. |
