授業題目 Academic Writing I
授業の概要 This course is about developing academic writing skills. The desired outcome of Semester 1 is for students to practice writing academic paragraphs, and to become familiar with different genres of academic writing.
学習の到達目標 The aim is to develop writing skills that are relevant to academic situations, such as report and essay writing. The goal is for students to be able to write a coherent and cohesive academic paragraph.

授業外学習の課題 Students will be expected to study for at least 120 minutes per week out of class.
It is expected that EVERY student on this course:
1) uses English as much as possible
2) always REVIEWS the last class and PREVIEWS the next class
履修上の注意事項 対面授業を実施します

原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。
また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。

To be successful on this course, students need:
1) good attendance and time keeping.
2) good classwork and homework.
3) good motivation and participation.
成績評価の方法・基準 The grade for the semester is composed of:
1) End of Unit Tests (100%)
*Lateness/absences/lack of effort will negatively affect grades.
*If a student is absent from a class, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to contact a classmate or the teacher to find out about the classwork/homework.
