授業題目 Working English I
授業の概要 We will live through the experience of "Widgets, Inc." developing and promoting new product ideas. We will also work on essential writing and speaking English skills for the workplace.
学習の到達目標 Investigating and reporting foreign language needs in local companies, and learning useful written and spoken English for use in the workplace.

第2回 The Dream Team! Writing letters / emails to companies in Hiroshima; Clarification and correction or advice.
第3回 Think outside the box. Writing business letters in English; Apologies, and clarification.
第4回 The product proposal. Responding to letters; Requests and Request Tennis!
第5回 Call the shots. Planning company visits I; Needs for English: How to say no - and keep your clients.
第6回 A team decision. Planning company visits II; Needs for English: From small talk to conversations; Role play I.
第7回 The poster presentation. Planning company visits III; Needs for English: Making suggestions, giving advice; Role play II.
第8回 Know your market. "Keigo" in English? Making, accepting and refusing an offer. Role play III.
第9回 Analysis and report. Cultural differences; Role play IV.

授業外学習の課題 Well before each class, check any messages or emails and follow instructions to be prepared for the class. After each class, check what you have to do, and when by - homework and other tasks. 1-5 hours per week.
履修上の注意事項 【対面授業を実施します】
Our classes will be in the classroom, but we are also likely to use Google Classroom and Google Documents.

原則として4回を超えた欠席をした場合、単位は認められません。

また、欠席については事前に連絡をすること。
成績評価の方法・基準 Tasks (60%), Final vocabulary/phrase test (40%) Students will receive feedback on tasks and for their final test upon request.
