授業題目 Study Abroad in English Speaking Countries_12
授業の概要 This course is intended for students who want to study abroad in English speaking countries and regions. This is accomplished by researching information about their particular country and using this knowledge as a way to better understand the written and oral skills necessary to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and situations. Lastly, students give an in class presentation based on the research that they have gathered and learned concerning their study abroad destination. 追記 Some of the lessons may be online.
学習の到達目標 By the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of how to communicate effectively in the overseas destination that they have chosen.
授業計画 第1回 Introductions, goals and syllabus. Research about their study location.
第2回 Research about their study location.
第3回 Content information concerning their study abroad location.
第4回 Role-plays: communicating with people in 'first contact situations' - airport, public transport (taxi, bus, train) and homestay family.
第5回 Living overseas and homestays - food, meals, daily life and personal & family responsibilities.
第6回 Learning at an overseas university: in & outside of class.
第7回 Explanations & guidance about Final Report.

授業外学習の課題 Students should make every effort at:
1. Using English as much as possible.
2. Practicing effective time management.
3. Always previewing and reviewing their work.
4. Students should expect to do at least 1 hour of outside-class work.

履修上の注意事項 In order to succeed in this course you need to:
1. Attend all the classes 追記 either face to face or online.
2. Actively participate in classroom activities.

30% Presentations
30% Active participation 追記 in class and online as well
Try NOT to be late or absent from your classes.
If you are absent, please contact the teacher for any missing work.
If you are absent FIVE or more times, you will not be given a credit.
