授業題目 Active English Ⅲ
授業の概要 This course will focus on conversation strategies, extensive reading, and learner development. Through this course, students will have many opportunities to become more confident in speaking English, and to get to know each other. Topics will include talking about the things that are important to you.
学習の到達目標 Students will need to prepare for each class, to build on what we do in class, and read outside class, and to consider topics that are part of everyday life but may not often be discussed.
授業計画 第1回 Travel conversations: Showing surprise.
第2回 Travel conversations: Reacting to bad news. Extensive reading: sharing our stories.
第3回 Talking about sports: Showing you're interested. Extensive reading: How's you reading graph?
第4回 Talking about sports: Showing you're not interested! Extensive reading: sharing interesting books.
第5回 Friends: All kinds of people! Asking for an explanation, and explaining.
第6回 Friends: What are your friends like? Checking that your partner understands, and showing that you do.
第7回 Special class! Nice Talking With You vocabulary review
第8回 Talking about work: double questions - and more answers!
第9回 Talking about work: Guessing the next word.
第10回 Talking about movies, describing people: getting time to think. Extensive reading: sharing our stories.
第11回 Talking about movies, keeping the the conversation going.
第12回 Technology in our lives: Learning from each other. Letting your partner raise a topic. Extensive reading: sharing our stories.
第13回 Technology in our lives: Learning from each other. Raising a related topic.
第14回 Conversation strategies review.
第15回 Review Active English so far; Making suggestions; Sharing plans for the summer, hearing from senpai
授業外学習の課題 Students will need to find materials, make word lists, create PowerPoint presentations and practice with classmates outside class. Around 45 minutes for each day of the week.
履修上の注意事項 いかなる理由があっても欠席は4回までとする。
(病気、交通機関の乱れ、冠婚葬祭等、一切の事情を含める。)
Credits will not be given if students are absent from class more than four times in one semester (including illness, traffic-related problems, family-related matters, etc.).

成績評価の方法・基準 Speaking tests/tasks (30%), extensive reading (15%), quizzes (15%), final tests/tasks (20%), class participation (20%).
