授業題目 English Presentation Studies II
授業の概要 Part two of an introduction to making presentations in English
学習の到達目標 Building upon the skills learned in English for Presentations I, the aim of this course is to further develop students’ ability to analyze, prepare, and deliver presentations in English.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • organize and develop entertaining and informative presentation content using common presentation language
  • speak with confidence
  • use appropriate eye contact, gestures, stress, and emphasis
  • create simple, easy-to-follow PowerPoint presentations
  • analyze presentations made by others

    Students will be expected to deliver three (3) full PowerPoint-assisted presentations during the course.

    Course conclusion
  • 授業外学習の課題 For each presentation, students will be expected to prepare the following materials outside of class and bring them on the day of the presentation:
  • outline
  • script
  • notes (on small notecards)
  • visual aids (photos, videos, PowerPoint, and/or real objects)
  • 履修上の注意事項
    1. Be in the classroom on time, ready to work. Don't miss class or be late. You will not get credit for the course if you miss class or are late too often.

    2. Pay attention during class time. Be polite to the instructor and your classmates. Don't chat, sleep, play games on your phone, etc. during class. You will not get credit for the course if you do these things.

    3. Be in class on presentation days. You must do all presentations to get credit for the course.

    4. Buy a copy of the textbook for this course and to bring it to class each week. NO PHOTOCOPIES. You will not get credit for the course if you don't buy a copy of the textbook, and your performance grade will go down if you forget to bring their textbook to class.
